Dufus - Dufus is more an example of my sensible side. Which, I think, is why all of the other characters make fun of him fairly often. I’m not a big fan of my sensible side, it’s boring and never wants to have any fun. Obviously however a sensible side is necessary so Dufus stays. This is, however, no indication of the future status of my sensible side, it could go at any time.

Squirmy - Of all of the characters in Dufus’ World Squirmy is the one that most people say reminds them the most of me on an average day to day basis. Squirmy is the side that is left over from my childhood when my brothers and I were very mischievous. I haven’t changed much, and a lot of that comes through in Squirmy. Squirmy is my opportunity to crack jokes, philosophize and wax poetic on a regular basis. When I’m not doing that through Squirmy, my friends have to put up with it in real life. Sorry guys.

Streak - To be honest Streak is more a character based off my mother more than myself, but I did get much of the trait. Streak is a pack rat turtle unlike any other, he has collected so much stuff that he can no longer fit in his shell and has to pull it around behind himself on a cart, and sleep on top of it. I love my mother and won’t go into all of the details, but this is more true to life than most people would believe. That’s all I have to say about that. The other interesting thing to watch for with Streak, is his shell is often the soapbox for all of the characters. Whenever there is a deep profound topic being expounded upon by any character, or a complaint to be made, it is most usually done from atop Streaks shell.

Slick - My wife often tells me that I would be a great psychiatrist because I am such a great listener, truth is I just know how to tune people out and nod at just the right moments. Slick is that side of me. He doesn’t say a word and lets the others work out whatever they want by just listening, they always get the answers they are looking for, and sometimes the ones they don’t expect. He’s a great sounding board.

Pixie - Sorry to disappoint you, she is not the manifestation of my feminine side (although the ridicule that could be drawn from that may be more fun for everybody than the strip itself). She is my Irish, my fighting side. Why my fighting side is revealed as a woman is merely coincidence, I’m pretty sure. Maybe this is all a little more enjoyable for a psychiatrist than I thought. However, I am not going to reduce myself to a puddle of weeping flesh trying to get to the root of my edible undies (or edifice or whatever) over this. At least not on here, in front of everybody.
